Monday's Federal Election

Good morning Everyone.

The Shooting Edge family just wanted to post a quick word of thanks to everyone in the community who took the time to cast a ballot on Monday.  It is vitally important to the continued success of our country that we all exercise our democratic right, and fulfill our democratic duty, to vote for our representatives in government.

We also wanted to thank and congratulate everyone who ran for office during this election, as they are the ones who are prepared to commit to the hard work in the coming four or so years that will be vital to ensuring our voices are heard, and our values are represented.  Win or lose, all of the candidates deserve our thanks and well wishes.

If the outcome of this election has you concerned about the state of your firearms rights, and we have heard from folks in the last few days that are, remember that you can be heard.  Contact your local representative, new or returning, and let them know what you think.  It is their job to hear you, and pass along your concerns.  They work for us, but we have to let them know what we are thinking and feeling about the issues that are important to us.

You can learn how to contact your local Member of Parliament at:

This website is in the process of being updated with the results of Monday’s election, and should have full information on November 9th 2015.

The current unofficial M.P. list is also available at:

Just remember, as when communicating with anyone else, it’s important to be polite, professional, and informed.  If you’re frustrated and concerned it is perfectly acceptable to say so.  Making threats, derogatory statements, or slurs (as have recently been posted on-line directed towards the Premier of Alberta) doesn’t make us look like the law-abiding trustworthy community group that we are.

Thanks again everyone!

The Shooting Edge Family.
